This vacation house is in a unique setting, nestled between a lake and a steep hillside. The new building transforms the owners experience of the site as the extruded folded geometries of the roof create new open living, dining kitchen areas with ample wall space for the owner’s art collections.
The folded roof splits to bring clerestory light from the east, while creating intimate interior spaces. A new entry made of stone and wood wraps around the foyer and creates an intimate space that transitions to the open spaces beyond. The double height living space opens up to a new ipe deck that overlooks the lake and provides a grand space for large family get togethers.
The second floor loft contains three bedrooms that get morning sunlight and look over the kitchen and great room below.
